Our hotel is a three star, family owned since three generations.
It was built in 1963 by Ezio Rech with his wife Oprandi Gesuina, known to all as "Tina".
In a quiet area of the highlands of Folgaria, is located in the immediate vicinity of the town center, which can be reached in a few minutes walk. It is also just only 500 meters from the nearest ski lift in the ski-slopes of Folgaria.
The story begins in Switzerland:
She was a Bergamo immigrant born and raised in Fino del Monte, a small town near Clusone (BG), she worked as a waitress in St. Moritz Maitre d'Hotel with his brother Andrea Oprandi. They were employees of a luxury 5 Star Hotel where guests were staying as the lawyer Gianni Agnelli the owner of FIAT and Juventus, or Aristoteles Onassis.
Ezio also immigrant born and raised in S.Sebastian of Folgaria, with his cardboard suitcase (exposed in the living room with fireplace) and little else, worked as a tiler in Austro-Swiss alps.
Love blossomed when they met and decided with the experience gained abroad to return home and open a hotel of their own.
Ezio hard worker, wasted no time and expert of the trade began to build walls, tiled floors and follow the advice of Tina, who had learned the tricks of the trade from the Swiss masters.
In this way the Rech-Hof Hotel Sayonara was the first hotel with an elevator and telephone exchange.
During this period, in 1957, the first born son Enrico, who began his career in 1989 with ice cream, opening the famous "Casetta del Gelato", which still produces a very creamy icecream known anywhere in these parts.
In 1959, was born the second son, Willi, an expert chef and passionate about everything that flies, from this you can imagine the reason for which we have reproductions of vintage gliders hang everywhere and a model lab. From time to time in the summer, you see colorful characters wander through the hotel with wings in hand, eager to provide information on airfoils and thermal currents to any customer should seem remotely interested.
